Garaia was a Cardassian woman. She was a member of the Cardassian Guard and was the science officer of the CDS Vendikar.
In 2371, the Vendikar was mapping an asteroid belt when it encountered the colony vessel known as the Hive. Garaia was killed when the Vendikar was destroyed by the Hive monofilament weapon deployed by two attack fighters. (DS9 novel: Objective: Bajor)
