The Garden of Eden, in human mythology, was a place where Adam and Eve - regarded as the first humans - lived after being created by God. The couple lived in the Garden until they were expelled from the Garden for eating forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge.

History and specifics[]

Pavel Chekov once claimed that the Garden of Eden was located just outside Moscow, and that being forced to leave it made Adam and Eve very sad. (TOS episode: "The Apple")

Eden's name was given for the mythical planet Sha Ka Ree which lay at the center of the galaxy. (TOS movie, novelization & comic adaptation: Star Trek V: The Final Frontier)

In the 2290s, Captain Spock kept an image of Adam and Eve being expelled from the Garden in his quarters on board the USS Enterprise-A. He did this as a reminder to himself that all things would end. (TOS movie: Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country)
