Garodon V was a Class M planet.

In the 23rd century the planet hosted a small Federation colony and a high security penal colony. The penal colony was isolated from the main civilian colony, being located over 1,000 kilometers from any other population centers on the planet.

One of the inmates at the penal colony was Hisayo Fujimura, who was sent to the prison following her role in the Tarsus IV Massacre, and attempts to help former Governor Kodos escape justice. In the 2250s, Shannon Moulton travelled to Garodon V to interview Fujimara for her book The Four Thousand: Crisis on Tarsus IV. (DSC novel: Drastic Measures)
