Garten was the name of a 23rd century settlement on the planet Garrus. It was the capital city and the seat of Garrusian civilization.

A mile-long hall of worship in the city featured spectacular architecture reminiscent of Russian palaces. A mansion connected to the hall contained a secured vault door for entry to planet-wide master computer operations, which were run by well-trained high priests.

History[]

In the 2260s, Gorrusians abducted Nyota Uhura from the USS Enterprise aboard a shuttlecraft, which landed in Garten. Pavel Chekov and Hikaru Sulu were captured there while searching for her, prompting James T. Kirk and Spock to expose taboos behind the abduction. (TOS audiobook: The Human Factor)
