Gavara was a star system, located somewhere in the space of the galaxy's Gamma Quadrant.

History and specifics[]

In the year 2372, Kira Nerys, Jadzia Dax and Julian Bashir were taking the USS Rio Grande to the Gavara system to undertake a biological survey when they received a distress call from the Teplans. (DS9 episode: "The Quickening")

In 2385, Rionoj filed a flight plan with Deep Space 9 that indicated she was taking her ship, the Furyk, into the Gamma Quadrant to the Gavara system, although she did not enter the Bajoran wormhole. The flight plan turned out to be fake. (DS9 eBook: Lust's Latinum Lost (and Found))
