Gavara sector

The Gavara sector was a sector in the galaxy's Gamma Quadrant, and located in or near Dominion space. In 2411, it became one of twenty sectors that the Dominion granted the Alpha Quadrant Alliance access to, in order to jointly fend off the Hur'q Invasion. (STO - Engineered for War mission: "Turn the Tide", STO - Gamma Quadrant mission: "Storm Clouds Gather")

Naming[]

The sector's name was derived from the Gavara system, which lays within its border. (STO - Gamma Quadrant mission: "Storm Clouds Gather")

Location[]

In the block of twenty sectors accessible to the Alliance, the Gavara sector shared a border with the Kendari sector on the "west", and the Gaia sector on the "south", respectively. The Klaxinoth sector lay diagonally across Gavara, situated between Kendair and Gaia. (STO - Gamma Quadrant mission: "Storm Clouds Gather")

The Gavara sector was situated circa 70.000 light-years from Sol. (DS9 episode: "Emissary")

History[]

In 2411, the Hur'q returned from their hibernation and began a campaign of ravaging the Dominion and its subject worlds. In desperation, Ambassador Odo turned to the Alpha Quadrant Alliance, granting them access to twenty sectors of the Gamma Quadrant in a bid to fight back the Hur'q Invasion together. (STO - Engineered for War mission: "Turn the Tide", STO - Gamma Quadrant mission: "Storm Clouds Gather")

The Hur'q targeted this sector for invasion and faced joint opposition by the Dominion and AQA. (STO - Gamma Quadrant missions: "Break the Circle", "Hur'q Planetary Assault", "Sinister Gathering")

During the investigation into the invasion's cause, Councillor Elim Garak of the Cardassian Union assembled his fleet in the Gavara sector. (STO - Gamma Quadrant mission: "Doomed to Repeat")

When the Hur'q launched an assault on Empersa, the Founder's new homeworld, Ambassador Odo gathered his fleet in the Gavara sector. (STO - Gamma Quadrant mission: "Home")
