The Genesis Investigation Committee was a body formed by the United Federation of Planets.

It was established at an unknown time after the failure of Project Genesis and to establish who was to blame for the flaw within the Genesis device. Admiral Androvar Drake was not found to have been at fault due to the fact that he was able to account for all stockpiles of protomatter in Starfleet. The Committee therefore concluded that Doctor David Marcus had acquired unstable protomatter for his experiment from outside sources such as the Klingon Empire. (TOS novel: The Ashes of Eden)
