The Genesis Wave was an immensely powerful protomatter beam that affects everything it touches, causing the Genesis Effect. All existing matter is reorganized at the subatomic level into life-generating matter of equal mass. The beam affects everything, stars, planets, etc... according to how the beam is programmed. This is done using vast computer resources even before the beam is fired.
