George La Forge was the first in a long line of distinguished Starfleet officers of the La Forge family. His descendants included Geordi La Forge.
Biography
By the year 2165, La Forge was a captain in command of a starship in the Federation Starfleet. Admiral Jonathan Archer considered him among the captains he trusted out in the field. (ENT novel: Live by the Code)
As admiral, George La Forge had commissioned the light cruiser USS Detroit at the dawn of Starfleet's history. (TOS novel: The Galactic Whirlpool)
