George Pérez (1954-2022) was an American comic book artist who illustrated the first three TOS covers for DC Comics in 1984.

Biography[]

Besides being the premiere cover artist for the long-running DC Star Trek line, Pérez also contributed an illustration of Apollo for Who's Who in Star Trek, appearing in "Who's Who in Star Trek, Issue 1". Many years later, Pérez also did cover art for a variant edition of an issue of the Star Trek—Planet of the Apes series produced jointly by BOOM! Studios and IDW Publishing.

Outside of Star Trek, Pérez is well-known for his work at DC Comics and Marvel Comics, particularly for the revival of the Titans titles in the early 1980s and the genre-defining crossover Crisis On Infinite Earths and its many spinoffs.

Pérez died in 2022.
