George Santayana (December 16, 1863 - September 26, 1952) was a male Human who lived on Earth in the 19th and 20th centuries. He was most famous for once saying "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

Data considered those words following a mission to the planet Tigan, where he had uncovered a conspiracy which had rewritten Tigan's history numerous times, and where the conspirators had tried to rewrite his own memories. (TNG - The Space Between comic: "History Lesson")

Archaeologist Paul Cunningham quoted Santayana to Commander Sonya Gomez to explain his interest in the past. (CoE eBook: Remembrance of Things Past, Book I)
