George Washington (February 22, 1732 - December 14, 1799) was a male human on Earth in the 18th century. Born in what was then the British colony of Virginia, Washington became a military officer, serving first for the British in the French and Indian War and then as commander-in-chief of the American land forces fighting for independence during the American Revolution. Following the American Revolution and the establishment of the United States of America, Washington was elected as the nation's first President.

History

Washington was honored with an obelisk known as the Washington Monument in the city of Washington, DC. (DS9 novelization: Far Beyond the Stars) He was also honored with a carving of his likeness on Mount Rushmore, a monument which also survived at least until the late 23rd century. (TOS movie: Star Trek V: The Final Frontier)

The 1939 New York World's Fair opened on April 30, 1939, the 150th anniversary of George Washington's inauguration. (DS9 novelization: Far Beyond the Stars)

George Washington Gold Key

An android replica of George Washington on Gamma Alpha V.

In the 23rd century, historian Alexander Lazarus created an android replica of Washington on planet Gamma Alpha V, along with many other significant humans from throughout history. He was killed shortly after meeting the USS Enterprise crew, as the planet was destroyed. (TOS comic: "The Legacy of Lazarus")

During his encounter with Doctor Beverly Crusher, terrorist leader Kyril Finn compared himself to George Washington in his struggle to gain independence from the Rutians for the Ansatan people. Crusher rejected the comparison, stating that Washington was a military general who did not target innocent civilians. (TNG episode: "The High Ground")
