When the universal translator on USS Discovery malfunctioned, one of the languages the UT translated Captain Christopher Pike's speech in to was German. (DSC episode: "An Obol for Charon")

In the year 2364, ancient German tribesmen in a holodeck simulation on the USS Centurion spoke a language that sounded similar to modern German. (TNG novel: The Captains' Honor)
