Ghioghe was a planet. In 2263, the USS Lydia Sutherland, under the command of Captain James T. Kirk visited the planet on a first contact mission. The mission was a failure when a mistake was made by one of the landing party, and the native species attacked the party and destroyed the Lydia Sutherland.
