Gif was a male Angoman ape, a sentient gorilla from the planet Angoma in the 23rd century.
History[]
Gif was a skilled sword-fighter and an honorable member of the Angoman military. In the year 2266, he and James T. Kirk held an exhibition sword-fight in an arena on the planet Angoma in front of a large audience of fellow gorillas. Afterward, Gif was in attendance at a dinner with King Kut and a Starfleet diplomatic party from the USS Enterprise, and heard a report that several Angomans had mysteriously disappeared.
