Glom was a male Ferengi trader who commanded three D'Kora-class marauders as DaiMon of the FMS Enterprise. A contact that peddled luxuries for prominent families inside the Orion Syndicate, though he insisted that his forces were close affiliates of the Ferengi Alliance, Glom and his crews also committed deeds related to piracy which drew attention from Grand Nagus Rom and his liquidators. Over the course of his business with the Syndicate, Glom offered to fund D'Vana Tendi when she attended Starfleet Academy, though her failure to recompensate him with the agreed-upon latinum drew the marauder into conflict with the USS Cerritos.

Entering into a business career amidst the stars — which Ferengi were encouraged to do so in the seventy-fifth Rule of Acquisition — Glom became an associate to various families involved with the criminal Orion Syndicate, who would enlist his services as a merchant that established himself on the market as a source of furniture and office appliances.
