The Gobi Desert is a vast desert region in Eastern Asia on Earth.

History and specifics[]

According to Montgomery Scott, W.C. Fields held that all boys should be raised by lion tamers in the Gobi Desert. (TOS comic: "A World Gone Mad")

A young Khan Noonien Singh tunneled out of an Augment facility in December 1979 and escaped into the desert, but he was caught by Doctor Heisen. In August 1985, the Augments killed their masters and escaped into the desert. (TOS - Khan comic: "Issue 1")

In the year 2376, archaeologist Benjamin Kogleman lived and worked in a remote area of the Gobi Desert. Captain David Gold visited him at his campsite to present him with his late mother's Starfleet Citation for Conspicuous Gallantry Medal. (SCE eBook: Breakdowns)
