Gobi was a star and associated star system consisting of four planets located in either the Alpha Quadrant or Beta Quadrant of the galaxy. It was home to an indigenous sentient humanoid species which died out in the 13th century.

Specifics[]

The system's planets did not orbit along a shared elliptical plane. Only the third planet, Gobi III, was capable of supporting life. The system did not have an asteroid belt.

History[]

In 2268, the USS Pasteur surveyed the Gobi system. The vessel was destroyed by a particle beam originating from the third planet. DNA from the vessel's survivors was harvested by Avatar.

Eleven months later, in 2269, USS Enterprise entered the system, located the wreckage and beamed a search party down to the third planet. (TOS - Year Four comic: "Issue 6")
