Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Gohod Clif was a Trill male serving in Starfleet in the 24th century. By the early 2370s, Clif had been promoted to captain and served as commanding officer of the USS Oraidhe.

Clif became a friend of Jean-Luc Picard in 2369 after the both attended a debriefing together. During their friendship, Picard soon gained the impression that Clif was "perpetually late".

In early 2371 the Oraidhe and Picard's ship, the USS Enterprise, were assigned to take care of a dangerous situation near the Great Rift. Unfortunately for Captain Clif, he and the rest of the Oraidhe's crew were killed during the mission by the intellivore. (TNG novel: Intellivore)
