Gorkon, son of Toq, of the House of Makok (d. 2258), was a prominent Klingon male politician during the mid to late 23rd century. He served as the Chancellor of the High Council of the Klingon Empire until his death.
Biography[]
Following the conquest of the Klingon Empire by the Terran Empire in 2258, Gorkon was brought before Captain Spock on Qo'noS. Spock offered to spare his life if he were to swear fealty to the Terran Empire and told him that he would be granted a lower administrative post on one of the new Klingon colonies after undergoing Terran "re-education." However, Gorkon refused, telling Spock that death was a welcome alternative. Spock then decapitated him using Hikaru Sulu's sword. His last words were Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam: "Today is a good day to die." (TOS comic: "Mirrored, Part 1")
