For the primary universe counterpart, see Gorn Hegemony.

In the mirror universe, the Gorn Hegemony was an interstellar state located in the Beta Quadrant. It was ruled by the Imperator of the Gorn Hegemony. In 2377, the Hegemony became a founding member of the Taurus Pact. (ST - Mirror Universe novel: Rise Like Lions)

History[]

22nd century[]

In the year 2155, Slar was employed as a slave master by the Tholians and in charge of the slaves who were examining and disassembling the Federation starship USS Defiant after the Defiant had crossed over from the primary universe. Captain Archer was afraid Slar would return with a warship if he was allowed to escape. (ENT episode: "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II")

23rd century[]

During the Khitomer Conference in 2293, Senator Pardek told Terran Emperor Spock he predicted the Tholians to ally with the Gorn and oust the Terran colonies from the Taurus Reach within two decades. Spock replied that the Empire would fall in 2295 and predicted the opportunistic Gorn would assist the Klingon Empire in conquering the Terran worlds as mercenaries. (ST - Mirror Universe novel: The Sorrows of Empire)

The Taurus Pact and War[]

Provided with executive powers by their respective governments, Prefect Zogozin, Tholian delegate Azrene and Thot Gor of the Breen Confederacy formed the mutually beneficial Taurus Pact at the former site of Starbase Vanguard in the Taurus Reach. Its designation was coined by Zogozin.

Conflict with the Pact was a looming menace for the Klingons and the Cardassians, both of which tried to broker a truce in order not to face a two- or three-front war. Emboldened by their alliance, the Hegemony captured Ogat from the Klingons in 2378. The Klingons responded to the brazen incursion by launching a full-scale invasion of the Hegemony and retook Ogat five weeks later by redeploying the Second Fleet. Meanwhile the Fourth and Eighth Fleets conquered Seudath, Karazek and Ozannot. General Goluk expected to land forces on Gornar six weeks later but the invasion was halted when the Terran Rebellion destroyed the Klingon SoHcha Fleet Yards and liberated Earth.

Following the victory of the Terran Rebellion and the dissolution of the Alliance in 2380, the Terran Protectorate, the forerunner of the Galactic Commonwealth, was recognized by the Pact as a nascent state. In addition, nonaggression treaties were signed with the Klingon Empire and Cardassia. (ST - Mirror Universe novel: Rise Like Lions)

Territory[]

The Gorn Hegemony was located in vicinity of the Taurus Reach in the Beta Quadrant, bordering the Terran Empire, Tholian Assembly and the Klingon Empire. (ST - Mirror Universe novel: Rise Like Lions)
