Graphic Novel Collection, Volume 24: The Newspaper Strips Volume 2 is an omnibus published by Eaglemoss Collections in 2017, the 24th in the Graphic Novel Collection series. It was the second of three volumes to collect the daily US Comic Strips series.

Description[]

The unique series of the U.S. Newspaper Strips continue with more adventures that take place after the events of Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

Published between 1979 and 1983, these daily newspaper comic strips are a true rarity among Star Trek comics. Reprinted only recently, these strips contain peculiar and obscure stories from a time almost forgotten.

The collaboration between many artists and writers make these adventures varied and colorful — a fascinating addition to any Star Trek comic collection.

Background[]

Front cover art is a bridge crew scene composited from one of Thomas Warkentin's sample audition strips set in the 2260s along with a drawing of the refit USS Enterprise by Warkentin that originally appeared in the first panel of "Called Home". These two images were also paired on the cover of the omnibus The Newspaper Comics, Volume 2. Back cover art highlights Thomas Hadley repairing a derelict's engine in "The Savage Within" (from the 2 June - 4 June 1981 daily strips as reproduced on page 210 of The Newspaper Comics, Volume 1).
The rest of the US Comic Strips were collected in Graphic Novel Collection volumes 15 and 34.
