The Grayson was an exploratory Earth starship in service prior to the founding of the United Federation of Planets. The great-great-grandfather of USS da Vinci Crewman Theodore Deverick was one of the designers of the Grayson, and Deverick kept a model of the Grayson in his shipboard quarters in the year 2376.
