A gree worm is a type of animal known to the Ferengi, sometimes preserved as food, for example, in the form of jellied gree worm. Gree worms are noted for the danger of their razor sharp teeth in the natural state, despite their adaptation as as a favored meal. (DS9 episode: "Little Green Men", ST - The Lost Era novel: The Art of the Impossible)

The 203rd Rule of Acquisition states "New customers are like razor-toothed gree worms. They can be succulent, but sometimes they bite back." (DS9 episode: "Little Green Men")

In a Ferengi tale in the Rules of Acquisition Greeworms were once known as Gree, giant deadly creatures with poisonous barbs instead of hair and long deadly claws. However while vying for control of the planet both Gree and Ferengi traded away attibutes of their species in an auction, the result of which left the once beautiful Ferengi race as they are today, and the Gree who although were the victors as the helpless worms that Ferengi snacked on. Leading to the 3rd Rule of Acquisition "Never spend more for an acquisition than you have to." (DS9 reference: Legends of the Ferengi)

Nog once offered a razor-toothed gree worm to Yora Elmark, who expressed her disgust. (DS9 short story: "The Bottom Line")
