Greelak

A greelak was a lizard-like creature native to Cestus III. They rarely grew more than ten centimeters long, and were red in color. A greelak has seven legs—two in the back, two in the middle, two under the shoulder and one under the neck. Instead of teeth, a greelak has a shelf of enamal for chewing, which looks more dangerous than it is. Greelaks were herbivores and were generally considered to be mostly harmless. (TNG novel: Q & A)
