A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! As always, the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Strange New Worlds and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG and Star Trek Online, as well as other eventful releases such as Section 31, the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). FASA RPG 2001

First edition FASA RPG box.

Greg K. Poehlein is a writer and RPG game developer who co-created FASA's Star Trek: The Role Playing Game.

Poehlein, Guy W. McLimore, Jr., and David F. Tepool formed Fantasimulations Associates, an independent RPG game developer firm that provided complete game systems for publishers. Jordan Weisman and L. Ross Babcock III of FASA Corporation hired them to produce a Star Trek RPG after four earlier attempts had been rejected. Poehlein, McLimore, and Tepool based their system on Star Trek's core beliefs of peaceful conflict resolution, intelligence and IDIC, and strove to create a product that would appeal to first-time gamers.
