Greko, son of Garjak, was a male Ferengi, noted for his atypically boisterous, aggressive, and blunt nature. He left his homeworld of Ferenginar as a young adult to work on a Ridorian merchant ship, and at one point, he saved his captain's life when they ran afoul of a Klingon bird-of-prey. The captain rewarded young Greko, and Greko used this money to buy a warp drive from the Breen, and bring it home to Ferenginar. (ST - New Worlds, New Civilizations short story: "A Dry Day on Ferenginar")

DaiMon Greko quickly became the most famous and wealthy ship's captain of his era. At this time, Garjak sent his other three sons, Mecko, Hecko and Trop, to serve under Greko. The four brothers found this to be an excellent and enjoyable arrangement. However, some time later, the ship struck a warp eddy which damaged the hull, and Greko was forced to chose between saving his brothers, or his cargo of valuable beetle snuff. Greko ultimately chose to save the beetle snuff, but used the latinum he earned to erect statues to his brothers on the grounds of their ancestral home. (DS9 reference: Legends of the Ferengi)

Greko remains a celebrated figure to this day, and a statue of Greko now stands in every Ferengi home. (ST - New Worlds, New Civilizations short story: "A Dry Day on Ferenginar")
