The Greyhound-class was a type of warpshuttle used by the Federation, specialized as a courier spacecraft, in Starfleet service in the 23rd century.

Specifications and service history[]

The Greyhound-class warpshuttle featured one type FWA-1 warp engine and one type FIA-1 impulse engine. The vessel could land and was protected by deflector shields. As of the late 2280s, reference stardate 2/2306, 1,910 such vessels had been built at a rate of 330 per year, at Federation shipyards based at Andor, Cait, Merak, Salazaar, Tellar, Titan, and Venus.

Mark I specification[]

The Mark I variant could carry 12 passengers and entered service in the early 2270s, reference stardate 2/1612. It could carry 200 metric tons of cargo. 170 were constructed per year. As of the late 2280s, 1,422 had been built. 1,342 were still in service, 40 were used as training vessels, 28 destroyed, 4 missing, 2 scrapped, and 6 sold to civilian organizations.

Mark IV specification[]

The Mark IV variant carried 6 passengers and entered service in the late 2270s, reference stardate 2/2009. It could carry 800 metric tons of cargo. 160 were constructed per year. As of the late 2280s, 488 had been built. 456 were still in service, 20 were used as training vessels, 8 were destroyed, and 4 were reported missing. Universal Parcel Service used this variant.
