The Gribbin system's orbit was the location of a number of worlds, including second planet Gribbin II, a primitive wilderness. (TOS comics: "The Alone", "The Alone, Part Two")
In 2270, the USS Enterprise performed a slingshot maneuver around Gribbin, using time travel to rescue James T. Kirk, who had been stranded in the system centuries earlier.
In 2290, Kirk returned to the system aboard the USS Enterprise-A and visited new Wumpar colonies on the second planet. (TOS comic: "The Alone, Part Two")
