Gristhera is a type of food made by the Andorian civilization.
History and specifics[]
Gristhera is a food item of unstated nature which is suitable for consumption by (and appeals to) many different species.
While commonly served in bowls or trays, individual gristhera are morsels that can be consumed in one or a few bites. As such, it has become a commonly-served hors d'œuvre at Federation diplomatic functions. (TLE novel: The Art of the Impossible)
- Gristhera was presented as the colorful food dish that was often seen on the Federation starship USS Enterprise in TOS, in episodes such as "Journey to Babel"[citation needed]. It is also seen in the USS Defiant mess hall in ENT episode: "In a Mirror, Darkly".
