Grokh was a planet located in the Hyades Cluster somewhere in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrant. It was the homeworld of the once advanced, humanoid Grokhoor civilization.
History and specifics[]
Grokh was the sole planet orbiting the 39th star in the star cluster and had deposits of dilithium.
Since the 13th century, the Grokhoor lived a withdrawn fantasy life on Grokh, forgetting how to repair their own technology.
In 2273, while charting the cluster, the starship USS St. Louis was compelled to crash on Grokh, and the same nearly happened to the USS Enterprise. Visiting crew became subject to illusions, seeing a lagoon and even San Francisco's Mariner's Park on the surface. (Phase II episode: "Are Unheard Melodies Sweet?")
