This article is about the Yridian. You may be looking for the Gron linename.

Gron was a male Yridian broker that harboured ties with a scavenger crew under Captain Nazzak. This alliance ended when Gron double crossed the corsairs, a mistake that would cost his life when their vexed leader tracked him down to a cantina on the Kor Neeron space station and shot him through the skull after a short conversation.

Biography[]

GronNazzak-confrontation

Nazzak confronts Gron for how his treacherous actions had humiliated the pirate.

As a contact to Orion scavengers that crewed the OSS Scarab, Gron was considered a friend of their commander, Captain Nazzak, who addressed him as one and trusted the Yridian to operate as a middleman that established links with customers. One of these occasions was after the corsairs took considerable difficulties to purloin trilithium that their associate claimed to have located an individual willing to trade with them for. However, though Gron arranged for his allies to rendezvous with the propertied client at the western docking area on the Kor Neeron space station and received five isiks from them as his referral fee, the scene was devoid of life when Nazzak and his lieutenants arrived to conduct the transaction, leading to them concluding that the broker had mislead them about the emptor that Gron later claimed was a reliable source. Aware that the deal had fallen through in a manner that had embarrassed Nazzak, Gron then proceeded to make an unsuccessful effort to shelter within the corner of a diner, but was tracked down in short succession. Voicing denial to the accusation that he was hiding from Nazzak after his friend entered the establishment, the pirate took a seat beside Gron to discuss the treason. Making no comment to the initial description he was given about how the trilithium had been a difficult substance to acquire, when Nazzak went on to describe the absence of his buyer, Gron offered him a feeble show of perplexity, then tried to apologize for the failure of the deal after the privateer confronted him for having sold their friendship for the price of five isiks. Though the Yridian offered to remunerate his client for the failed deal, the Orion was merciless and proceeded to shot him through the face with a blaster, leaving the skull reduced to a bloodstained smear on the wall above the now-headless corpse.(DFT - Hell Is Only a Word comic: "Part 4"
