For other uses, see Guy.
See Gardner for other articles with titles that contain, either by relationship or by coincidence, this character's surname.

In an alternate reality, Guy Darrin Gardner (also known as Guy Joseph Gardner) was a powerful member of the Green Lantern Corps.

Biography

In this reality, Gardner was a Human chosen as a backup for Hal Jordan in his role as the Green Lantern of sector 2814. Gardner was noted for an irascible demeanor and a less serious approach to being a Green Lantern than his contemporaries, Hal Jordan and John Stewart. In his past, Gardner had also held the power rings of a Yellow Lantern and Red Lantern during periods of time when his Green Lantern power ring was taken away. Gardner has some alien DNA, a result of some of his ancestors being humanoid race visitors to Earth.

Gardner's history is similar in many versions of DC Comics's publishing, which describe him as part of a number of parallel realities in the DC multiverse.

Gardner and fellow Green Lanterns Kilowog and John Stewart were brought by Ganthet into year 2262 of another alternate reality where they helped Hal Jordan and the USS Enterprise capture Sinestro and put him in the Enterprise brig. (TOS - The Spectrum War comic: "Issue 5")
