Jake and Nog go on an adventure in the Gamma Quadrant.

Description[]

Kidnapped!
The Fjori star trader Orak is strictly off-limits as it docks at the repair bay on Deep Space 9. But Jake and Nog can't resist the challenge to steal a look at the Fjori star maps and find the secret Fjori home planet, Eden. It's an adventure—until they're caught!
Suddenly they're trapped in the starship, hurtling though uncharted space. Not even Jake's father, Commander Sisko, can help them now! Once they set foot on the forbidden planet, they must remain forever. Their only hope is Vija, a Fjorian girl who asks the Council of Elders to give Jake and Nog the chance to undertake the dangerous three-day Rite of Passage and win the right to leave. But first they must cross the burning desert, scale razor-edge mountains and steal a feather from the monster Graf—while six chasers follow, determined to destroy them on Eden's toxic turf...

Summary[]

Jake's interest is piqued when a Fjori ship docks at DS9 for repairs. The Fjori are a nomadic culture like the Gypsies of Earth and are famed for their travels in space and the star charts that they have compiled of their journeys. The Fjori want privacy while their ship is docked, so Commander Sisko orders it off limits. Not put off, Jake is further intrigued when Nog claims that he knows the location of the lost Fjori home world. Nog admits that he actually doesn't know, but counters that if they could sneak aboard the Fjori ship they could find the information in the star charts. In Quark's they see a young Fjori teenager called Kala swindle a bar patron. Nog steals the items, three cloud crystals, in the confusion. Jake convinces Nog that they have to return the crystals and they meet a Fjori girl called Vija just outside the Fjori ship. Nog meanwhile has been trying to access the Fjori ships star charts but is caught.
