Half-a-Man Sooris (also 'Sorris') was a notorious Orion pirate of Orion history, commander of the largest pirate fleet in history and responsible for the sacking of Troyius.

As he went from planet to planet, looting and pillaging, the pirate fleets of Half-a-Man Sooris grew until they'd become the largest in history.

This culminated in the devastating sacking of the Tellun system on the 19th February, 1894 CE (reference stardate -2/9402.19), and lasting for weeks. The pirates outnumbered the defenders, and many Colony crews mutinied to return and defend their homes. The Orion Colony on Troyius, once one of their most productive worlds, was temporarily abandoned, and over 2.5 million people died, including 1.5 million Orions. Civilization was all but wiped from its surface.

A number of worlds could boast or regret a visit from Half-a-Man Sooris. He briefly used the starship port at Rhinate as a base. He also walked the subterranean streets of the legendary pirate port world of Takers - some legends say that he discovered it (more likely, rediscovered it), others claim he died there, or that he was last seen alive there before he left on his Last Voyage.
