Hanara on a stone artefact.

Hanara was a constellation visible from the Mikhal Outpost in the Delta Quadrant, 10,000 years ago. (VOY novel: The Eternal Tide)

History[edit | edit source]

Billions of years ago, a group of Anschlasom traversed the Som anomaly and stranded on a class M planet in the Delta Quadrant ten millennia before the 24th century. They recounted their journey in an underground cave and depicted Hanara, among other astronomical objects on stones as a guide to that cave. The galaxies Illiara and Oskria laid in the same direction as Hanara. (VOY novel: The Eternal Tide)

When the Mikhal Travelers established an outpost on the planet after it was abandoned, they came across the surface artifacts but failed to decipher their meaning.

On stardate 50693.2 (September 11, 2373), the Federation starship USS Voyager visited the Mikhal Outpost for a stopover on their way back to Earth. The Mikhal Traveler Zahir showed the stone depicting Hanara to Voyager's nurse Kes. (VOY episode: "Darkling")

Voyager catalogued an image of the artifact. Following Voyager's return to the Alpha Quadrant, the file was processed by Project Full Circle and came to the attention of Captain Afsarah Eden, whose origin was connected to the Anschlasom castaways. (VOY novel: Full Circle)

In August 2381, USS Achilles transported Captain Eden, Counselor Hugh Cambridge and the Doctor to the Mikhal Outpost to investigate Eden's origin. Eden remembered the name of Hanara and used her knowledge of Anschlasom astronomy to find the path leading into the cave. (VOY novel: The Eternal Tide)
