A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! At present the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Discovery and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG, Star Trek: Infinite and Star Trek Online, as well as other post-57th Anniversary publications such as the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). For other uses, see Havas-Kul.

The Havas-Kul sector was a sector in the galaxy's Gamma Quadrant. In 2411, the sector was granted independence from the Dominion, and retuned to the reformed Hur'q swarm. The Havas-Kul sector contained the Hur'q homeworld of Havas-Kul, and the newly established Hur'q Neutral Zone, enforced by the Alpha Quadrant Alliance and Ambassador Odo of the Dominion. However, unlike the other twenty sectors the AQA had been granted to access, access to Havas-Kul was limited. (STO - Engineered for War mission: "Turn the Tide", STO - Gamma Quadrant missions: "Storm Clouds Gather", "Home")

Naming[]

The sector's name was derived from the Havas-Kul system, which was located within its borders. (STO - Gamma Quadrant missions: "Tenebris Torquent", "Home")

Location[]

Havas-Kul was not part of the block of twenty sectors accessible to the Alliance. When Councillor Elim Garak led a Cardassian Union fleet to the Hur'q homeworld in 2411, the ships gathered in the Gavara sector. (STO - Gamma Quadrant mission: "Tenebris Torquent")

The Havas-Kul sector was situated circa 70.000 light-years from Sol. (DS9 episode: "Emissary")

History[]

In 2411, the Hur'q returned from their hibernation and began a campaign of ravaging the Dominion and its subject worlds. (STO - Engineered for War mission: "Turn the Tide", STO - Gamma Quadrant mission: "Storm Clouds Gather")

Following the restoration of the Hur'q from insanity thanks to the treatment devised by Doctor Julian Bashir, the cured Hur'q returned to the Havas-Kul sector. The sector was granted independence from the Dominion, and the Hur'q Neutral Zone established to maintain the peace between the Hur'q swarm and the Dominion. Unfortunately, uncured Hur'q fleets continued to terrorize Gamma Quadrant worlds. (STO - Gamma Quadrant mission: "Home")
