Haynes was a male Human Federation Starfleet Captain who commanded the Archer-class USS Montana in 2269.
Biography[]
Nicknamed "Showboat Haynes", he was described as older than James T. Kirk, with graying black hair, a long face and craggy and handsome. It was mentioned that he had been passed over for promotion several times, but his outstanding voyage of discovery to the Nefertiti sector led to him receiving the honor of commanding the Montana, a diplomatic courier.
In 2269, Captain Haynes and the Montana worked with Captain Kirk and the USS Enterprise on a mission to Zeta Gibraltar dealing with Excalbian refugees. (TOS novel: Savage Trade)
