The Hegh'ta-class was a Klingon Defense Force bird-of-prey/heavy raider starship class designed for combat and raiding operations. The Hegh'ta-class was named for the IKS Hegh'ta and was in service in the early 25th century. Along with its sister ship class, the Haj-class heavy raider, the Hegh'ta class was the largest Klingon bird-of-prey as of 2409. (ST video game: Star Trek Online)
The Hegh'ta was designated a heavy bird-of-prey. In the 25th century, BOPs were considered raiders. The Hegh'ta-class was designed to be modular. The components included primary and secondary hull, nacelle struts and nacelles. All modules were interchangeable with their Haj-class counterparts. In addition, several basic livery options were available to allow KDF commanders customization. These could be modified further. (ST video game: Star Trek Online)
For a brief period in the early 25th century, the Borg Collective were in control of shipyards in the Vorn star system, where they mass-produced Klingon starships, including Hegh'ta-class raiders. Additional birds-of-prey were stored aboard the Assimilated Carrier. The production was put to an end by an Allied task force eliminating the Borg presence in the system. When the Borg occupied the Vorn system, they began to mass-produce Hegh'ta-class heavy raiders. Raiders attacked the IKS Kang, coming from the Vorn shipyards and the Assimilated Carrier. The Borg presence in the system was eliminated by an Allied task force. (STO mission: "The Cure Found")
