Hegol Den was a male Bajoran in the 24th century.

Biography[]

During the Cardassian Occupation of Bajor, he was a member of the Bajoran Resistance. During that time, he was close friends with a man named Tafka. (TNG novel: Losing the Peace)

Following the end of the Occupation in 2369, Hegol joined Starfleet, and became a counselor. In 2380, Lieutenant Hegol was assigned as Senior Counselor aboard the USS Enterprise-E, following the transfer of Counselor T'Lana. (TNG novel: Greater Than the Sum)

During the Borg Invasion of 2381, Hegol's duties included offering aid to those who lost family in the attacks, or those who were injured aboard ship. Hegol moved through the triage areas of Sickbay after one particular attack at the Azure Nebula, and his soothing words maintained calm order, even though Doctor Beverly Crusher wished he had some sort of medical experience and could physically aid the wounded. (ST - Destiny novel: Mere Mortals)

In the aftermath of the Invasion, Hegol maintained a busy schedule, dealing with numerous cases of post-traumatic stress. During this period, he expressed to Commander Worf his concern that Lieutenant Jasminder Choudhury had not sought counseling following the death of her family on Deneva, and he took special note of how Worf reacted to his concerns. (TNG novel: Losing the Peace)
