Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

The Hemanites were a humanoid civilization native to the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Hemanites were small in stature, described as doll-like. (TNG novel: Survivors) Their children were born in litters and traditionally, the diminutive adults wore flat-topped tassel caps. At least one member had a high pitched voice.

They were in contact with the Federation by the 23rd century.

In the 23rd century, Hemanite farmers designed the irrigation system which would be incorporated in fields on the Nisus colony, and a member of this race, Stolos, served on the Nisus Council. (TOS novel: The IDIC Epidemic)

In the year 2359, a Hemanite woman named Sethan served as science officer aboard the Starfleet vessel USS Starbound. (TNG novel: Survivors)
