Lieutenant Henry George Beason was a Starfleet officer who was assigned to the USS Enterprise in the 2260s.
During Captain James T. Kirk's first year in command of the Enterprise, Beason was killed during an Orion attack, while he was on duty in the weapons room. As Beason's only surviving relative was an elderly aunt who resided in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on Earth, Captain Kirk decided to perform Beason's funeral service in the ship's chapel, where his friends and crewmates could attend.
