Hera is the name given to a planet that was settled by followers of the Human Augment tyrant Khan Noonien Singh and attempted to imitate his Khanate. The planet was the home of the Heran Modality.
The planet itself is the third planet of the star system of 492 Lyncis that surrounds a spectral class G2 subdwarf star. It is approximately 1,217 light years from Earth. The world is a class M planet that was settled by Terran emigrants in the late 21st century. The original colonists adhered to a doctine of genetic engineering and selectic breeding to eliminate undesirable traits while encouraging traits that would enhance themselves.
The colonists planned to continue their ruler's plan in creating superior humans and one day return to conquer Earth. Their plan was thwarted by the crew of the USS Enterprise and a renegade member Astrid Kemal who opposed her government's wishes.
