Ensign Hicks was a Starfleet officer in the late 23rd century.
In 2287 he was on board the USS Enterprise-A as an engineering duty officer. Montgomery Scott noticed the smell of vodka on his breath, revealing that he had been drinking with Flaherty and Pavel Chekov. After being told to "sleep it off", he accidentally injured Ambassador Robert Fox. (TOS novel: The Rift)
