The Hideki-class attack ship, also referred to as a Cardassian shuttle or Cardassian fighter, was a type of small warship, or patrol ship, used by the Cardassian military during the 24th century. (DS9 episodes: "Profit and Loss", "The Maquis, Part I", "Tribunal", "Call to Arms", "Sacrifice of Angels", "Tacking Into the Wind", "What You Leave Behind"; DS9 reference: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual; ST video game: Star Trek Online)

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine alternately identifies ships of this profile as "Hideki-class shuttles" and "Cardassian shuttles". The Technical Manual uses the term "Cardassian fighter". Star Trek Online uses the Hideki-class name.

The class had been introduced into service by the 2340s. The Drakamair was in service in 2348. (TLE - Terok Nor novel: Night of the Wolves)

(there is a bit of a discrepancy with the above information and the appearance of a Hideki class vessel serving as a diplomatic transport to bring Cardassian ambassador Lorjek to Vulcan in 2327 (TOS comic: Enter the Wolves) )

The ship was considered approximately equivalent to the Starfleet Danube-class runabout, but equipped with heavier armament, giving it sufficient striking power to operate in fleet actions. (DS9 episodes: "Tribunal", "Call to Arms", "Sacrifice of Angels")

In 2372, two Hideki-class ship and a Galor-class vessel started a pursuit of the USS Defiant after the Defiant left Lazon II, but soon broke off to assist the Vexon. (DS9 short story: "Promises Made")

In 2375, members of Gul Sigol Rusot's Cardassian Liberation Front cell stole a Hideki-class ship with up-to-date security codes so a team led by Corat Damar, Odo, and Kira Nerys could infiltrate the Kelvas Repair Facility in the Kelvas system. (DS9 episode: "Tacking Into the Wind")

The class was still in service in the 2400s, and a number of them had fallen into the hands of the True Way. (STO episode: "Cardassian Struggle")

Star Trek Online treats the Hideki-class as a frigate-level enemy. It also arms the ship with a dual phaser bank in its forward mount rather than the beam array-style spiral-wave disruptors used by other Cardassian ships (the only type of spiral-wave disruptor weapon available to players, and also equipped on the Hideki as broadside weapons).
