On Earth in the 2370s, if one had a license, hovercraft could be procured near maglev train stations and transport sites in major cities. Travel was restricted to designated flyways and streets at no more than 65 miles per hour. Licenses were available at embassies and transportation authority sites. In 2371, fter discovering a 1936 automobile floating in space, USS Voyager's Harry Kim wondered if it might be an early design for a hover car. (VOY episode: "The 37's")
