- For other uses, see Hoyle.
The Hoyle (NCC-1701/04) was a Federation Type-4 shuttlecraft in service to Starfleet in the 23rd century. The shuttle was assigned to the Federation starship USS Enterprise in the 2270s.
Service history
In 2276, the Hoyle transported a diplomatic team to non-aligned planet Parides IV, who specifically requested the presence of Captain James T. Kirk as they formally opened relations with the Federation. Ambassador Alec Raymond, Spock and Leonard McCoy accompanied him. While they were away from the USS Enterprise, the science station on the bridge was critically damaged during an encounter at Duran XII. (TOS - Untold Voyages comic: "Silent Cries")
