The Hupyrian Conflict was a military struggle which took place on the Hupyrian homeworld over the course of centuries, largely through the use of guerrilla tactics.
The Ferengi Alliance became involved in the Hupyrian Conflict after one of the factions, the Hupyrian People's Unity Front, seized mining interests owned by Ferengi Grand Nagus Oblat. Oblat then created the Ferengi/Hupyrian Friendship Brigade who, despite many tactical and physical disadvantages, managed to end the conflict within a year, thanks to the troops' use of Hupyrian beetle snuff.
