Hydra was a star with an associated system located in Sector 16C within Federation space in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants.

History and specifics[]

Hydra's orbit included five planets, including the inhabited Hydra II. Terrestrial Hydra III was potentially habitable, while the system's first planet was not. Hydra IV and Hydra V were gas giants.

The system was discovered in the early 2230s, on reference stardate 1/67, by the starship USS Poseidon, and soon became a haven for Federation visitors. (ST reference: Spaceflight Chronology)

The system was unrelated to worlds of the Hydran Kingdom.
