For other uses, see K't'inga.

The K't'inga was a 23rd century Klingon starship, the tier 3-rated K't'inga-class battlecruiser prototype in Imperial Klingon Defense Force service in the from the 2270s[1] to the 2410s decades. In the 25th century, the K't'inga carried the prefix IKS. (STO - Empire mission: "The Hunt is On")

Service history[]

K't'inga

The K't'inga in the 2270s.

This class was an upgrade of the 2260s-era D7 class and in service by the time of the V'ger crisis in the year 2273. (TOS movie: The Motion Picture)

The IKC K't'inga had been introduced to the Klingon Defense force at the beginning of the 2270s. (CCG set: The Motion Pictures)

The ship remained in service into the 2370s. During a time of tension between the Federation, Klingon Empire and Romulan Star Empire surrounding Starbase Unity One, the ship carried the prefix IKV. (TNG video game: Starfleet Command III)

In the 25th century, the K't'inga remained active as a tier 3-rated battlecruiser and served as the namesake of the 2400s-era IKS K't'inga, lead ship of the K't'inga-class refit. Among the T3-rated Klingon battlecruisers, equipment and combat strength matched. The modular design of the related classes enabled the IKS K't'inga to exchange hull components with its similarly sized counterparts. The refit K't'inga had entered service by the year 2409, during the height of the Federation-Klingon War of 2405-2410. (STO - Empire mission: "The Hunt is On")

From 2410 onwards, the K't'inga represented its configuration of the K't'inga class on the shipyards interfaces operated by New Romulus Shipyards, Klingon Defense Force Order of Builders, Dominion Vanguard Fleet and Starfleet Shipyards Operations at Khitomer Alliance facilities across the Milky Way Galaxy. (STO - New Dawn missions: "Explore the Flotilla", "The Hunt is On", "Ceremony", "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Flag officers of the Alliance could deploy the K't'inga alongside other spacecraft for assignments across the galaxy's quadrants as part of Operation: Delta Rising's four-quadrant strategy. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Admiralty System")

This K't'inga shared its name with the larger K't'inga-class carrier IKS K't'inga, which was launched in the 2250s and returned to service in 2411. (STO - Klingon Civil War mission: "Leap of Faith")
